Learning & development
A full learning platform to build skills in-house — author courses and quizzes, assign training with deadlines, and issue certificates while tracking every learner's progress.
What it is
Learning & development is an in-house training platform. Admins author multi-module courses from video and rich-text slides, add quizzes that are graded automatically, then assign the training to staff with deadlines. Staff work through their assigned courses, pass quizzes, and earn a downloadable certificate.
Screens
- Manage / dashboard — the admin hub, with Courses and Reports.
- Courses and course editor — author modules, lessons and content.
- Course assignments — assign staff and set deadlines.
- My learning — a learner's own assigned courses.
- Player — the sequential learning experience.
- Reports — progress and completion, with CSV export.
Authoring a course
- Create a course with a title, description, thumbnail, a pass policy and an optional pass mark. New courses start as a draft.
- Add modules — ordered containers you can reorder.
- Add lessons to each module — a Video, a Slide (rich text), or a Quiz.
- Add content — upload a video (with saved duration and size), or write slide content.
Building quizzes
A quiz lesson has a pass mark and a set of questions — single choice, multiple choice or true/false. Each question carries points, options (at least one marked correct), and an optional explanation. Grading happens on the server, so learners never see the answers before they submit. Multiple-choice questions are marked all-or-nothing.
Publishing & versions
Move a course from Draft to Published (or Archived) when it's ready. To revise a live course without disturbing people already taking it, use Create new version — it clones the course so existing learners are unaffected. A learner's pass criteria are snapshotted when they're assigned, so later edits never change the goalposts mid-course.
Assigning training
Learners don't self-enrol — an admin assigns them. From Course assignments, pick the staff, set a due date, and optionally a recurrence (in months) for periodic re-training. Assigned courses appear in each person's My learning.
The learner experience
The player is sequential: videos (which resume from where you left off), slides, then inline quizzes. Progress saves automatically, and the last lesson you viewed is remembered so you can pick up anywhere. Quizzes are scored instantly, with retakes supported. After finishing, learners can leave a star rating and comment.
Certificates
When a learner passes (per the course's pass policy), and if the course has certificates enabled, Hubtoll issues a PDF certificate with a unique verification ID, downloadable by the learner. Admins can download any learner's certificate too. Certificates can be switched off per course.
Reporting
Admins get an overview across courses, a per-course report (each learner's status, score, pass/fail and deadlines), a feedback report, and a CSV export. A daily reminder sends learners in-app notifications for training that's due or overdue, and automatically issues the next cycle for recurring assignments.

Good to know
- Learners are assigned training; they don't self-enrol.
- Pass policy can be per-quiz, course-aggregate, or both — and it's locked in for a learner when they're assigned.
- A course with no quizzes passes on completion.
- Completed courses are never rolled backward.
- Certificates can be disabled on a per-course basis.
